One of the first doctors in Southeast Asia to specialize in robotic, bariatric, and abdominal wall reconstruction is Dr. Vivek Bindal, Head of Department at the Institute of Minimal Access, Bariatric, and Robotic Surgery at Max Super Speciality Hospitals Vaishali and Patparganj.

The University of Illinois at Chicago in the United States provided him with a fellowship. After that, Dr. Vivek Bindal worked as a professor of bariatric surgery at Duke University in North Carolina, USA.

Over fifty research papers and book chapters have been published by him in both domestic and foreign magazines.

In addition to serving on the editorial board of the esteemed Surgery for Obesity and Related Diseases magazine in the USA, Dr. Vivek Bindal is the Sectional Editor of Robotic Surgery in the magazine Minimal Access Surgery.

He founded the Clinical Robotic Surgery Association, USA’s Indian chapter in 2019 and is a member of the executive boards of the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons, Obesity Surgery Society of India, and CRSA International.

For his work, he has received invitations to and awards from numerous national and international platforms.

Dr. Vivek Bindal teaches robotic surgery and minimal access at several universities both domestically and internationally.
